Managing Dog Populations Through Informed Interventions:

Effective dog population management is integral to responsible pet ownership and community well-being. We are committed to improving the lives of dogs and their human companions in Tavakubu and beyond, encompassing Lautoka’s wards and the wider Western and Northern Divisions. Our approach blends data-driven insights with strategic interventions to achieve this goal.

Our data collection methods consist of two primary avenues: 1. Dog Population, Ecology & Demographics Studies and 2. Ethical Attitudes/Pet Ownership Surveys. Through these means, we gather comprehensive information on the local dog population, their ecological impact, demographics, and the attitudes of residents towards dogs and pet ownership.

With the insights derived from our data, we craft interventions designed to address the unique needs of Tavakubu Ward, Lautoka. Our holistic approach encompasses desexing programs, licensing initiatives, educational campaigns, and community involvement. These interventions aim to control the dog population, ensure responsible pet ownership, and promote a harmonious coexistence between dogs and the community.

However, our work doesn’t stop with the clinic. After the implementation of our interventions, we will conduct follow-up data collection to assess their effectiveness. We encourage all residents who feed or care for dogs in the Tavakubu ward, particularly those with dogs that remain unlicensed or desexed, to bring them to this clinic. This collaborative effort ensures that we continue to refine and improve our initiatives based on real-world results, ultimately leading to a more sustainable and healthy community.

Together, through responsible pet ownership, informed interventions, and a shared commitment to the welfare of our furry friends, we can create a brighter future for both dogs and residents in Tavakubu.

Don’t miss out on this incredible event, and join us in promoting responsible pet ownership and the welfare of animals in Tavakubu and Lautoka. Let’s make a difference together!
